In August 2023, the first Edeka store in Fürstenwalde opened its doors. Fürstenwalde is a precious town situated in the glacial valley in the state of Brandenburg, Germany. Edeka Fürstenwalde offers a unique shopping experience through a wide selection of regional products, themed displays showcasing new and trendy items for younger shoppers, and a clean, well-organized store supported by friendly staff.Approximately one-third of the 1,850 m² sales area is dedicated to chilled and frozen goods, all stored in units supplied by Epta. The retailer chose Epta based on their positive experience in other locations and the excellent collaboration between the two companies. Sustainable Refrigeration for Maximum Efficiency and VisibilityCustomers pick up frozen products from Costan’s Tortuga chests, arranged in island formations with end units. Another frozen section is located near the checkout area, featuring the tall GranBering freezer, primarily used for packaged ice cream. This elegant black unit ensures excellent product visibility—even with frequent door openings.For chilled products, the store prioritizes both sustainability and cost savings, making doors on refrigerated units essential. GranVista Next, a refrigerated cabinet with full-glass doors and transparent handles, is arranged in an island layout. It holds dairy products, self-service cold cuts, meat and poultry, packaged cheese, and convenience items. In the fruit and vegetable section, the same unit also contains grab-and-go items and smoothies. With the flexible, fully transparent Stage plug-in refrigerated island, the store effectively highlights promotional products. Premium Service Counter that Boosts Workflow and Customer ExperienceThe store features refrigeration and freezer units from Epta, whose dynamic system integrated into the Bistrot service counter helps significantly reduce the daily workload.Its true centerpiece is the 15-meter-long Bistrot service counter by Epta’s Eurocryor brand, combining functionality with elegant design.Its modern design blends seamlessly into the overall store layout. Cheese, cold cuts, and meat are displayed behind the straight glass top. The wood-look counter stands out not only visually but also functionally. Thanks to the dynamic system, employees’ work is much more efficient. They can fully stock the counter in the evening, cover it with the night blind, and still find fresh goods ready the next morning. The time saved can then be used for other tasks.Cleaning is simple and quick: the glass top opens easily from the front, eliminating the need to disassemble internal components. This project once again demonstrates Epta’s commitment to immediate support and close collaboration. The refrigeration units meet all expectations: they are built to last, energy-efficient, cost-effective, and highly reliable.
